When Flutter is the right mobile bet

One codebase for iOS and Android — with the release discipline product teams actually need.

Product teams often ask for two native apps and discover they cannot afford two release trains. Flutter is a strong answer when you need one team to ship iOS and Android with shared UI, shared business logic, and a single quality bar.

At Mechabits we use Flutter when store presence, offline behaviour, and iteration speed matter more than platform-unique chrome. Pairing, BLE, GPS, and push are all shippable — what matters is treating mobile like a product surface, not a wrapper around a website.

The hard parts are rarely the widgets. They are release pipelines, crash reporting, performance budgets, and API contracts that survive spotty networks. Those are the same habits we apply on SPEDDY-style education products and XPOD-style companion apps.

Flutter is not always the answer — sometimes React Native or native Swift/Kotlin is clearer. We pick the path the product can operate for years, not the one that wins a framework argument.
